Well, I think I figured out how to type a new page.  We'll just have to see.  I am cracking up today as I am watching my 3 grandchildren over night for the first time.  We were so excited to do this and I dreamed up what we were going to do for this special time.  Then it happened -- I pulled my back out a couple days ago and picking up anything is such an effort.  Totally bummed me out.  You know how you dream how something is going to be . . . that's a mistake, isn't it?

First overnight with Grandma and Grandpa in their new house . . .

Went to church and during church Dave got called to a fire - need to mention it is 106 degrees today.  I drove Clarke's mother to the airport who is really "More Mee-ma" & I'm Mee-ma.   She took care of the kids the first couple of days while Sabrina and Clarke are on their first cruise.  Just as soon as she left Lilly started crying - and I mean crying all the way home.  By the time I arrived home - Owen had wet his pants.  I'm leaving the car seat cover for Dave to figure out how  to get it off and back on again.  As I was showering Owen, Wyatt was crawling and threw up but the dogs quickly cleaned it up for me.  I tried to feed Wyatt but his high chair tray was stuck so I tried to feed him sitting in my lap but that was hysterical. He was so mad so I made a bottle and put him to bed -- oh, but the bed wasn't up because that's what David was going to do when we got home from church and he was still at the fire.  Got the bed up - made the bottle and put poor Wyatt down.  I'm sure he will have some sort of memory of this event.  Fed the kids - put them to bed and thought all was well but the dogs started barking hysterically and woke up the kids.  Dave called and one of his fire fighters had heat stroke so he is at the hospital with him.  Doesn't know when he will be home.  I guess at the end of the day you just have to laugh.  I keep thinking this must have been a  "Candid Camera Moment".

Well, this is my first "post" to my own blog.  Really don't know what I'm going but I'm trying.  We are in our house and I still can't believe it.  I like wearing my pedometer and it's amazing how many steps I can achieve just walking back and forth in my house!  We have been so busy trying to "become" normal once again.  Just finding things is an adventure.  We figured out we have been living from storage for 3 years this July.  We sold our house 3 years ago in Castro Valley and lived 6 months with my parents in CV until David retired from the Fire Department.  Then we moved up to Loomis into the trailer and lived there for 2-1/2 years until just recently.  It's like Christmas finding things I haven't seen for years.

Update on the house:  We were just ready to have the outside of the house painted and found out the "siding" was cracking.  Had the "rep" out and he said it was a defect from a bad batch and all of it has to come off.  What?  Of course, on their dime, but still -- all of it?  At the same time - our pool is almost done.  Can't believe how fast that went.  Start digging one day and then one month later we are almost ready to swim.  Just in time for the hot summer.

David is very busy at work (Loomis Fire).  The word is "no new knees" for him until he is older.  He just is too young since they wear out fast when they are put in so young.  You are lucky if you get two knees in a life time so he is trying to deal with the pain.  He has 4th stage arthritis in both knees -- that would be all right if there were at least 10 stages of arthritis but there are only four.

I wish I knew how to transfer pictures over to here.  Another day, another lesson.  This will be a work in progress.

I love Loomis.  I was so scared to move but I love the quietness of the "country" and riding my bike.  I look like the witch from the Wizard of Oz.  Can you just hear the music with Toto in the back?  That's me.  I have a basket and all.  I ride to my brother's house to water and I now ride to my garden on the other side of our property to water and harvest.  I'm growing - zuchinni, yellow squash, pumpkins, honeydew, cantelopes, watermelon, strawberries, lettuce, sunflowers, potatoes.  Lilly thinks it's "her" garden.  She loves the country.  She loves to check HER garden out each time.  When the pumpkins are still green - she carves her name with a nail into the pumpkin.  As it matures and turns orange - her name "scars" over and she has her own personalized pumpkin.  We do one for Owen, Wyatt and if we have a big enough pumpkin - The Caldwell Family.  By then, maybe I'll have a picture I can post.

First post to my blog.  An eventful day.

Happy Mother's Day to Gayle!

For a few months now, my Mom has asked me to set up a blog for her. Being not so knowledgeable when it comes to computers, I questioned her ability to really keep it up. Due to unforseen issues with our computer, the Mother's Day gift I was going to make for her did not happen (yet!). So, without further adieu, I give you...
Gayle and Dave Wheeler's Blog
With this gift, I am also at her mercy when it comes to giving her "lessons" on blogging. Hopefully she'll pick it up reasonably fast and be well on her way sooner than later.
She will be thrilled to see how her family is doing, the Young Women she taught, and the old and new friends she has made.
Watch out! Gayle Wheeler has made it to the "blog-stalking" world!
Here's a little beginner update on the Wheelers:
1. They FINALLY (I don't think I could possibly make the word FINALLY big and bold enough) moved into their new home. It still isn't totally done, but liveable enough.
2. They are out of the trailer. 2 1/2 years in a 5th-wheel, well, enough said.
3. Dave is the Loomis Fire Chief. Yea, we thought he retired too.
4. Gayle works in the Relief Society Presidency.
5. Her favorite child, Sabrina, and her husband Clarke live in Rocklin with their ADORABLE three kids, Lilly, Owen and Wyatt.
6. Dustin and his wife, Landon, just graduated from BYU and will be occupying the trailer at the end of July when Dustin starts Paramedic School.
I'll turn the remainder of the blogging on this site over to Gayle...Good Luck!
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY MOM!
We LOVE You!
Love, The Caldwell Family
P.S. Don't worry Dustin and Landon, "favorite" is a self-proclaimed title!
